BIDDEFORD — Biddeford community organizers have united to present the 14th Annual Family Fun Festival, set for noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7 in the 39 Sullivan St. parking lot.

The Family Fun Festival is a free, family-focused block party that welcomes residents of the immediate Bacon Street neighborhood and beyond. The festival is hosted in the neighborhood, located adjacent to downtown Biddeford, to generate community connections and pride, organizers say.

The event features musical performances by The Alumni Band, Assasi, Kind Kids, and Billy Billy. The Biddeford-Saco Elks Lodge will serve up free halal food for attendees.

Activities for kids and families will be presented by Biddeford Recreation, Biddeford Fire Department, Engine, Heart of Biddeford, Kids Free 2 Grow, Biddeford Peer Support Center, A Running Passion, Bike Part Art, Biddeford Community Gardens, Apex Youth Connection, Biddeford Adult Ed, McArthur Library, Biddeford Ready!, My Place Teen Center and more.

“This kind of community event doesn’t happen without the hard work of our many partner organizations,” said Tim Boston, Outreach and Inclusion coordinator for the City of Biddeford. “Biddeford is lucky to have such a strong network of caring people who are committed to bringing family fun to the Bacon Street neighborhood each year.”

The event is sponsored by the City of Biddeford, Saco-Biddeford Savings Institution, Bangor Savings Bank, and Biddeford Savings Bank.
