LEWISTON – Diane Faye McKinney, 65, died Aug. 7, 2022, at Russell Park Rehabilitation Center after a long illness that became terminal in the past few months.

Diane was born June 6th, 1957, to Faye Pond and Joyce Tucker in Spokane, Washington. The family would later relocate to East Windsor, Connecticut. She graduated from East Windsor High school in 1975. A few years later she moved to Maine and found the love of her life Chris McKinney. They were married in 1981 and welcomed three daughters over the next six years. Diane loved to quilt and made each blanket with love, that her children could wrap up in and feel her hugs. She was a great hugger. While raising three young daughters, Diane returned to school to get her medical assisting degree with a 4.0 grade average and working fulltime. She would start working for Maine Medical Center in 1996, until she had a stroke in 2004, disabling her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each of them.

Diane is predeceased by her mother Joyce, her father Faye, her daughter Christina and many aunts and uncles. Diane is survived by her daughters Tamara McKinney and Samantha McKinney. Her half-sister Barbara Gibson. Her grandchildren Tucker, Hanna and Katie. As well as her Aunt Pat. She had many children and grandchildren that she loved as her own. Diane grew up with her cousins and had a close relationship with most of them.

There will be a combined celebration of life for her and her mother on August 14th, 2022, from 1-4pm at The Brunswick Hotel, 4 Noble St, Brunswick, ME 04011.
