SCARBOROUGH — The Enclave of Scarborough is preparing to host its popular annual Classic Car Show set to take place Aug. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Marking its seventh year, the event has grown to take over the community’s main parking lot at 18 Black Point Road, filling most spaces with classic automobiles spanning several of the decades during which The Enclave of Scarborough’s senior residents learned to drive or got their first license.

“The event is big enough, we now use our Enclave Shuttle to transport Classic Car Show attendees from the nearby Scarborough High School at 11 Municipal Drive, where we ask everyone to please park for the event,” said Caitlin Marsanskis, senior executive director at The Enclave of Scarborough. “While the Classic Car Show is free and open to the public, we also encourage and ask everyone to please donate school supply items or gift cards in support of Reiche Elementary School in Portland, with donations collected at the event.”

This year’s car show includes live music by the Pine Tones, food and drink, a raffle and prizes awarded for participating classic cars and their owners. Anyone with a classic car is encouraged to register in advance to participate by calling The Enclave of Scarborough’s Director of Lifestyles Randi Gonneville at 207-883-3889.

The community’s Classic Car Show tradition began in 2015 when The Enclave of Scarborough opened. Though no event was held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Classic Car Show returned last summer with a record number of showcased automobiles.
