Dirty Dancing in Concert
7:30 p.m. Thursday. Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle St., Portland, $57 to $99. porttix.com
It’s been 35 years since the blockbuster film “Dirty Dancing” was released, and the legend of it lives on with a film-to-concert experience. Dirty Dancing in Concert features a screening of the film on a full-size cinema screen with a live band and singers performing the many memorable songs. Who can forget gems like “Hungry Eyes” and “She’s Like the Wind?” Then there’s the ’60s hits like “Be My Baby,” “In the Still of the Night” and “Love is Strange.” The real pièce de résistance is of course “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” and you most certainly will at this show. All the seats are good so nobody, including Baby, will be put in the corner.
