Carolyn Ann McAdams, 78, of Kennebunk, passed away Nov. 29, 2022. She was born Dec. 8, 1943 in Worcester, Massachusetts, to William and Eva (Boxshus) McAdams.

As a child, Carolyn moved from Worcester to Los Alamos, New Mexico, then to Limestone, Maine, and finally Springfield, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Cathedral High School. She then earned a degree from Cambridge School of Business in Boston before volunteering for the Peace Corps in Costa Rica.

Carolyn was entrepreneurial in nature. She owned her own bed and breakfast for 38 years in Kennebunk. People were often seen taking pictures of her gardens, which made her proud. She was also a realtor in the Kennebunk area for several years.

Carolyn was very creative, generous, and outgoing. She often spent time volunteering for various community organizations. She enjoyed traveling, art, watercolor painting, and music. One of her greatest joys was spending time with family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva McAdams. She is survived by: her sister, Cheri Johnson and her husband Joe; nephews, Sean Donohue and wife Kristen Puryear, Timothy Donohue, Thomas Johnson and his wife Brooke, and Joey Johnson; niece, Katherine McAllister; nine great-nieces and nephews, Brennan Donohue, Tyler Donohue, Cole Donohue, Michael Donohue, Maeve Donohue, Morgan Donohue, Gillian McAllister, Fiona McAllister, and Calum McAllister.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 114 Main St., Kennebunk.
