Aaron Higgins scored twice to help Falmouth build a 3-0 lead, and the Navigators held on for a 3-2 win over Edward Little in a Class A boys’ hockey showdown Wednesday at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

Falmouth (12-2), the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll, took the lead on a goal by Andrew Belliveau just 1:22 into the game. Higgins made it 2-0 midway through the second period, then struck again just eight seconds into the third.

The Navigators have won 12 in a row after an 0-2 start.

Cassidy Campbell score twice in the third period for Edward Little, (10-3) including a short-handed goal that ended Brandon White’s shutout bid with 7:15 remaining. White finished with 14 saves.

Brody Keefe assisted on both of Campbell’s goals and Camren Dufour made 16 saves for the Red Eddies, who are ranked fourth in the Varsity Maine poll.

LEAVITT 5, CHEVERUS/YARMOUTH 2: Hunter Bussiere had a goal and an assist to lead Leavitt/Gray-NG/Oak Hill/Poland (8-6) past Cheverus/Yarmouth (9-3-2) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.


Nic Michaud gave the Kings an early 1-0 lead before Breck Langevin stretched it to 2-0 just four minutes into the game.

Conner Boulay beat Cheverus/Yarmouth goalie Neal McQuarrie (15 saves) with a backhander for a 3-0 advantage late in the first, and Hunter Bussiere extended the Kings’ lead to 4-0 midway through the second.

Cheverus/Yarmouth scored twice late in the second period. Truman Peters got an assist on Quinn McCoy’s goal, then scored on a breakaway.

Will Keach answered in the third period.

Kade Knight made 11 saves for the Kings.



NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 46, SACOPEE VALLEY 34: Nate Oney scored 14 points, Cal Nice had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and the Panthers (6-12) pulled away in the second half against the Hawks (5-13) in a regular-season finale at Yarmouth.

Wyatt Thomas got all seven of his points in the fourth quarter for NYA, which led 17-16 at halftime and 32-27 after three quarters. Moses Semuhoza finished with 11 points.

Carson Black led Sacopee with 12 points.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 72, GREELY 67: Aidan Hebert hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 3:09 to play and the Patriots (15-3) held off the Rangers (10-8) in Gray.

Gray-New Gloucester led 15-7 after one quarter, 32-26 at halftime and by 12 in the third quarter, but Greely rallied and took the lead midway through the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer from Tyler Pettengill.

Noah Hebert tied it with a 3-pointer, then an Aidan Hebert 3 put Gray-New Gloucester ahead for good.


Noah Hebert paced the Patriots with 19 points. Nate Hebert finished with 16.

Greely got 25 points from Pettengill.

YARMOUTH 75, POLAND 44: Evan Hamm tossed in 29 points to lead the Clippers (14-4) past the Knights (4-14) in Poland.

Stevie Walsh added 18 points.

John Patenaude paced Poland with 22 points. Hunter Brackett and Hayden Christner pitched in with 10 and nine, respectively.

FREEPORT 56, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 51: Conner Smith scored 20 points and JT Pound had 16 for the Falcons (5-13), who used an 18-8 fourth quarter to rally past the Raiders (9-9) in Freeport.


Camden Johnson scored 14 points for Fryeburg. Gunnar Saunders, Lorenzo Catana Vallemani and Joao Teixeira Orlando each had 11.

YORK 55, WELLS 50: Jacob Fogg had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the Wildcats (10-8) held off the Warriors (5-13) in York.

Derek Parsons and Haydn Forbes each added 12 points, while Lukas Bouchard finished with 12 rebounds for York.

Caden Dufort led Wells with 22 points.

ST. DOMINIC 60, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 42: Logan Carey knocked down six 3-pointers and scored 20 points, leading the Saints (8-10) past the Guardians (6-12) in Auburn.

The Saints established a 32-12 lead by halftime. Taylor Varney added 11 points for St. Dom’s.


Isiah Cardinal scored 15 points for Seacoast.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 99, WISCASSET 24: Jace Bessey sank five 3-pointers and scored 21 points as the Phoenix (14-4) marched past the Wolverines (0-17) in Jay.

Spruce Mountain leaped out to a 50-16 lead by halftime. Eli Timler scored 18 points and Lucas Towers added 16 for the Phoenix.

Wiscasset’s Jevar Garricks and Dylan Akers each scored eight points.


GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 43, GREELY 36: The Patriots (15-3) rode a 15-0 run in the second and third quarters to a win over the Rangers (8-10) in a regular-season finale at Gray.


Greely led 12-5 after one quarter, but a 3-pointer from Ellie Steele pulled the Patriots within 18-16 at halftime. Gray-New Gloucester then went ahead for good in the third quarter and took a 29-23 lead to the fourth.

Ella Kenney and Alexandra Portas paced the Patriots with 10 points apiece.

Greely was led by Kylie Crocker with 11 points and Cece Berthiaume with nine.

FREEPORT 65, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 57: Angel Pillsbury made six 3-pointers and finished with 26 points as the Falcons (10-8) rolled past the Raiders (7-11) at Fryeburg.

Maddie Cormier added 16 points and Sydney Gelhar had 11.

Mina Milosevic scored 22 points for Fryeburg. Sydney Shaw chipped in with 15.


SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 49, ST. DOMINIC 35: Ellie Leech recorded 24 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals to lead the Guardians (9-9) over the Saints (2-16) in Auburn.

Breckyn Winship finished with 13 points and seven rebounds for Seacoast.

Ava Apodaca led St. Dom’s with 12 points.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 57, SACOPEE VALLEY 19: Graca Bila had 11 points and six assists to help the Panthers (17-1) coast past the Hawks (9-9) in Hiram.

Charlotte Harper-Cunningham also scored 11 points for NYA. Madilyn Onorato and Erin Reid each had 10.

Brooke Landry led Sacopee with 10 points.

RICHMOND 62, BOOTHBAY 23: Izzy Stewart had 21 points and 12 rebounds as the Bobcats (14-3) defeated the Seahawks (3-14) at Richmond.

Steward also had four steals and four blocks. Kara Briand added 12 points, and Breonna Dufresne recorded seven assists.

Kathryn Hibbard led Boothbay with seven points.
