Lobster rolls donated to Scarborough first responders.

During the extreme cold of Feb. 3-5, local restaurant Bite into Maine donated lobster rolls to police, firefighters, EMS, and dispatchers who worked through the cold wave that weekend that saw temperatures well below zero degrees.

“It’s been a cold few days but your generosity certainly helped us through!” wrote the Scarborough Police Department on their Facebook page, thanking the restaurant.

Bite into Maine has a large menu, but specializes in lobster rolls. They have a take-out location in Scarborough, and a food truck in both Cape Elizabeth and Portland.

“While there are many great organizations right in Scarborough, we felt like the first responders deserved a token of our appreciation on the coldest day of the year (or even years for that matter),” said Kevin Deyak, director of operations at Bite into Maine. “A small act of kindness goes a long way and we are very fortunate we were able to do it.
