The county has committed $50,000 to the town of Falmouth as part of its “Keep Cumberland County Warm” project, which is using $1.35 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to assist county residents who are struggling to pay for heat this winter.

Qualifying Falmouth residents are those “whose earnings are above the limit to qualify for General Assistance aid or the Federal Low Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) but are still below 300% of the Federal Poverty Limit and are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of heat,” according to the town.
