I’m outraged. For many years, Republicans both in and out of power have espoused plans to usurp Social Security and Medicare to pay the bills, all while shouting their slogan, “no new taxes.”

These plans are essentially a retroactive increase in taxes for the working class. Social Security monies have been taken from paychecks for the sole purpose of supporting working people after retirement, not as a buffer for government spending. Why must the middle class bear the brunt of this style of proposal while the rich get off Rick-Scott-free?

Tax the rich so they can appropriately participate in the nation’s expenditures.
