“I’m currently reading ‘I Have Some Questions for You,’ by Rebecca Makkai. Her last novel, ‘The Great Believers,’ was a powerful story of the lives of a group of friends during the AIDS epidemic in 1980s Chicago, and her latest (which just came out yesterday) is a boarding school murder mystery that also questions our cultural obsession with true crime. I still think about the characters in ‘The Great Believers’ five years later, and so far I’m loving getting to know the characters, untangling the mystery, and wrestling with the big questions behind ‘I Have Some Questions for You.’ ” — BRANDON DUDLEY, Brunswick
