KENNEBUNK – The Kennebunk Kennebunkport Arundel Chamber of Commerce announced last week the creation of the 3 Towns 1 Community Fund. The new nonprofit will allow the organization to continue serving the greater Kennebunks community through the already-established Little Pantry, Sharon Staz Memorial School Supplies Drive, holiday giving and other initiatives.

“The 3 Towns 1 Community Fund will build on the great work the Chamber has done in the last several years,” said chairman Becky Jacobs of Kennebunk Savings. “It will also allow us to partner with other area nonprofits to better serve the community.” Courtesy image

“The 3 Towns 1 Community Fund will build on the great work the Chamber has done in the last several years,” said chairman Becky Jacobs of Kennebunk Savings, in an April 26 news release. “It will also allow us to partner with other area nonprofits to better serve the community.”

While the Chamber created the nonprofit, the 3 Towns 1 Community Fund will stand on its own. The creation of the new nonprofit came after years of discussion with the Chamber board.

“We were doing a lot of work in the traditional charity space, so we thought it would better support that work to create a nonprofit,” said Chamber Executive Director Laura Dolce in an email. “The 3 Towns 1 Community Fund has its own board and bylaws, and is a registered 501c3. Our mission is, ‘lifting up our neighbors in need.’”
