In Monday’s letter about Texas being cheaper to live in than Maine (“Letter to the editor: Texans will not want to come to Maine,” April 24), Theodore Sirois mentioned that there is no state income tax. He neglected to mention the high property taxes there.

I was talking to my brother-in-law this week, who is visiting from Texas, and he said property taxes there are unreal. He pays $13,000 per year.
