Mitch Ham scored the decisive run in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out throwing error as Falmouth beat South Portland 2-1 in a Class A South baseball game Friday in Falmouth.

Falmouth pitcher Brennan Rumpf allowed only three hits, walked none and struck out 14. Tyler Simmons had two hits and an RBI for the Navigators (4-1).

Andrew Heffernan led South Portland (3-2) with two hits, including a double, and scored the Red Riots’ only run. He took the loss despite allowing no earned runs and striking out nine in six innings.

CHEVERUS 6, PORTLAND 1: Brian Connolly pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and Matthew Connor had four hits and two RBI as the Stags (4-1) cruised to a win over the visiting Bulldogs (1-4).

Devin Kelly and Reis Stamaris each added an RBI single.

MASSABESIC 11, WINDHAM 5: Bryden Marcotte went 3 for 3, drove in two runs and scored twice to help the Mustangs (2-2) beat the Eagles (2-4) in Windham.

Massabesic broke open a tie game with four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Logan Marden went 2 for 4 with an RBI for Windham.

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, GREELY 3: Gabe Harmon had three hits and scored the go-ahead run as the Capers (5-0) defeated the Rangers (4-3) in Cumberland.

Cape fell behind 2-0 after one inning, as the Rangers got RBI singles from Marky Axelsen and Ryder Simpson. Harmon tied it in the second with a two-run double, and Charlie Song’s sacrifice fly gave Cape Elizabeth a 3-2 lead.

Greely drew even in the third on an RBI single from Cam Irish, but Harmon scored on an error in the fourth.

Curtis Sullivan earned the win with four innings of scoreless relief. Sam Almy took the loss.

YARMOUTH 5, YORK 0: Liam Hickey pitched a two-hitter, walking one and striking out six, to lead the Clippers (2-2) over the Wildcats (3-5) in Yarmouth.

Yarmouth put the game away with a four-run sixth, including RBI singles by David Swift and Sam Bradford.

MORSE 1, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Gavin Baillargeon struck out 16 and tossed a three-hitter as the Shipbuilders (2-5) beat the Raiders (4-4) in Bath.

Baillargeon also scored the game’s only run in the fifth inning. Caleb Harvey had two of Morse’s six hits.

Freyburg’s Ethan Lord struck out nine over six innings.

WELLS 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Spencer Carpenter, Caleb Moody and Keith Ramsey combined on a five-hitter as the Warriors (5-1) edged the Patriots (1-6) in Gray.

Carpenter struck out four in 2 2/3 innings. Moody worked the next 3 1/3 innings before Ramsey struck out three in the seventh to earn the save.

Carpenter also got two of the Warriors’ five hits.

Gray-New Gloucester pitcher Ian Libby notched six strikeouts and walked none. Colby Dehetre had two hits and Max Kenney doubled for the Patriots, who left the bases loaded in the seventh.

SACOPEE VALLEY 6, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3: Austin Croteau went 2 for 3 with a home run, and Caleb Vacchiano struck out seven across 6 2/3 innings as the Hawks (6-0) beat the Seagulls (0-5) in Hiram.

Jamie Sperlich was 3 for 3 for OOB.

FREEPORT 6, LAKE REGION 4: Gus Hollen’s tiebreaking two-run homer in the fifth helped the Falcons (5-3) beat the Lakers (1-5) in Naples.

Aaron Converse hit a double and earned the win on the mound. Liam Emmons recorded a save.

Jaiden Meehan led Lake Region with a double and a single.

WAYNFLETE/NYA 2, ST. DOMINIC 0: Cole Lambert pitched a shut out, and Daxton St. Hilaire and Cooper St. Hilaire each had an RBI single as Waynflete/NYA (6-0) defeated St. Dominic (5-2) at Portland.

LACROSSE

CAPE ELIZABETH 12, SCARBOROUGH 1: Keegan Lathrop finished with four goals as the Capers (7-0) defeated the Red Storm (2-5) in Scarborough.

Scarborough goalie Ben Kerbel stopped 19 shots.
