Sam Lowenstein struck out eight and allowed only two hits Wednesday as Yarmouth stretched its baseball winning streak to eight games with an 8-1 win over Gray-New Gloucester, at Gray.
Andrew Cheever had two hits and scored three runs for Yarmouth (8-2), which has allowed just eight runs during its winning streak.
Gray-New Gloucester’s Ian Libby struck out 12 while allowing five hits and walking one in 6 2/3 innings. Only two of the Clippers’ runs were earned, as the Patriots (2-10) committed seven errors.
Max Kenney tripled and Andrew Keddey had a single for Gray-New Gloucester.
WELLS 12, LAKE REGION 0: Caden Dufort drove in five runs and Caleb Moody pitched a two-hitter for the Warriors (7-4) in a five-inning win over the Lakers (1-10) at Wells.
Dufort, Keith Ramsey and Ayden Collins all had two hits for Wells, and Santiago Fitch-Cury hit a two-run homer in the second inning.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 14, POLAND 1: Ethan Lord drove in three runs and Tom Ontengco homered as the Raiders (8-4) downed the Knights (5-6) in five innings at Fryeburg.
Edgar Real and Bryce Richardson each hit a double for Fryeburg, which broke the game open with nine runs in the fourth inning. Richardson allowed only two hits and one unearned run over four innings.
BOOTHBAY/WISCASSET 8, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 7: Five players collected two hits apiece for the Seahawks (3-6) as they edged the Falcons (3-7) in Rumford.
Maddox Cusumano drove in four runs, Gryffin Kristan scored three, and Sam Markowitz, Liam Thomas and Finn Harkins also contributed two hits. Kristan allowed four earned runs on five hits while striking out nine in 5 1/3 innings. Thomas and Harkins pitched in relief.
Tyler Warren pitched a complete game for Mountain Valley, racking up 12 strikeouts. Jake New reached base four times with three hits and a walk, drove in two runs and stole three bases. Kaden Paaso, Julien Byam, Colby Frisbie and Bradley Sirois also drove in runs.
LACROSSE
FALMOUTH 10, MARSHWOOD 4: Joey Guerrette scored five goals for the Navigators (9-1) as they defeated the Hawks (5-4) at Falmouth.
Gio Guerrette added three goals and assist, Caden Bernard had a goal and five assists, and Hayden Davis also scored for Falmouth.
