Memorial Day Parades and other observances will be held Monday in South Portland, Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth.

South Portland’s parade will start from the Southern Maine Community College parking lot at the north end of Broadway at 10:30. It will travel down Broadway to the Veteran’s Monument, across the street from Frank I. Brown Middle School, in Mill Creek Park where a recognition service will take place.

Cape Elizabeth’s parade begins at 9 a.m. at the middle school, turns right on to Scott Dyer Road, turns right again onto Route 77, and ends at the Village Green adjacent to Town Hall. A brief ceremony and wreath-laying will take place at the Green at the end of the parade.

The American Legion Libby Mitchell Post 76 is hosting this year’s parade in Scarborough. The parade starts at 10 a.m. from the high school, turns right onto Gorham Road, another right on Route 1 and ends at the Veterans Home, where a ceremony will be held.

An open house at the Scarborough American Legion, 42 Manson Libby Road, will begin at noon, and Boy Scouts will help with a flag disposal ceremony.

Small Memorial Day ceremonies will also be held in town at Black Point Cemetery, 8 a.m.; Dunstan Monument, 8:30 a.m.; Dunstan Cemetery, 8:45 a.m.; and Blue Point Cemetery, 9 a.m.
