I find it interesting to note that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ recent flurry of anti-trans laws in Florida are in agreement with Islamic doctrine and Shariah law in Pakistan.

As The Associated Press reported in the May 21 Maine Sunday Telegram (“Trans activists plan to appeal Islamic court’s ruling that guts a law protecting their rights,” Page A9), the Pakistani Federal Shariat Court ruled that “a person cannot change their gender based on ‘innermost feeling’ or ‘self-perceived identity’ and must conform to the biological sex assigned to them at the time of birth.”

How ironic that DeSantis is bringing the precepts of Shariah law to Florida after targeting Islamic communities and charities for years.
