The annual Strawberry Festival fundraiser at Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Boyhood Home, 40 Hawthorne Road in Raymond, will be held from 6 to 7:45 p.m. June 24.
The festival will kick off with a brief update from Hawthorne Community Association member Abel Bates about ongoing fundraising efforts to restore and preserve the house, followed by Raymond Code Enforcement Officer Chris Hanson, who will speak about preserving land and shoreline in town. Homemade strawberry shortcake served with coffee and punch will then be served to all attendees.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children 8 and under. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are strong recommended by emailing Hawthorne@maine.rr.com or by calling 329-0537.
