The Scarborough High School class of 2003 is hosting its 20-year class reunion on July 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Greenhouse at Highland Farm., located at 109 Highland Ave. in Scarborough.

The event will be catered and have a cash bar and music by the local cover band, Sugarbox. Tickets must be purchased in advance at $50 per person.

Resident earns Alabama degree

Izabel Desjardins of Scarborough has received a bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama.

Council Corner Live set for June 27

Council Corner Live is a chance for Scarborough residents to get to know councilors and talk with them about issues in town. This month’s topic is the Unified School Solution. Learn updates on the site selection process, land acquisition efforts, and preliminary project timeline.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts, and have an open discussion with councilors. Councilors rely on public input and engagement to make informed decisions that represent the best interest of its residents.

The event will be in-person in the Public Safety Building classroom on Tuesday, June 27 at 6 p.m. It is also available via Zoom or viewing on YouTube.

Card named to USA Archery team

Casey Card, of Scarborough, a junior at James Madison University in Virginia, was named as part of the USA Archery All American collegiate team. Card shoots female recurve for the school’s team.

Card earned a medal and certificate at the Outdoor Nationals in Statesboro, Georgia, in late May.

Resident graduates from Lasell University

Nathan Taggart of Scarborough graduated cum laude from Lasell University with a bachelor of science in health science. Graduates were recognized at the university’s 169th commencement ceremony on May 13.

Resident graduates from Widener University

Widener University celebrated the achievements of 1,375 Chester-campus graduates in five ceremonies held on Memorial Field between May 9 and May 11. Graduates hailed from 12 countries and 38 states and included:

Lewis named to spring dean’s list at Hofstra

Jacob Lewis of Scarborough earned a spot on the spring 2023 dean’s list at Hofstra University. Lewis’ major is film studies and production.

Connolly named to James Madison University President’s List

Scarborough resident, Ryan Connolly, has been named to the President’s List at James Madison University for the spring 2023 semester. Connolly graduated magna cum laude with a degree in communication sciences and disorders.

Parenteau named to Hofstra Provost’s List

Trevor Parenteau of Scarborough achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring 2023 semester, earning a spot on the Hofstra University Provost’s List. Parenteau’s major is film studies and production.

Blue Point Church to host bean supper

Blue Point Congregational Church will host a public bean-hole supper on Saturday, June 24. The event is scheduled for 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children. The meal includes two types of beans, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, hot dog, dessert and drink.

Lappin among Mississippi State University’s spring graduates

Olivia Lappin, of Scarborough, is among more than 4,100 students graduating from Mississippi State University in spring 2023. Lappin received the master of science from MSU’s College of Forest Resources.
