Mercy Hospital has added three members to its wound and hyperbaric medicine team: Dr. Angela MeyerTammie Hutchinson and Jamei Murphy. Meyer is an experienced physician who worked in the emergency department of Mercy Hospital for over a decade. Meyer received her M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital. Hutchinson is a family nurse practitioner with 18 years of experience in wounds and ostomy. She holds a wound and ostomy certification from Emory University. Murphy is an advanced practice registered nurse with experience in education, serving as a preceptor for students in the physician assistant program at the University of New England in Biddeford.

Joe Clayton

Joe Clayton has joined St. Germain, an engineering firm in Westbrook. as an environmental scientist. Clayton has experience as a lab technician at Abbott Laboratories and in the brewing industry. He received a B.A. in wildlife biology from the University of Rhode Island.

Tyler Blanchard

Tyler Blanchard has joined Northwestern Mutual as a financial representative. Prior to this appointment, Blanchard was a fish culturist at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in Casco. He received a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies from Plymouth State University in 2021.

PROMOTIONS

Joe Reardon

Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution promoted Joe Reardon to retail banking manager. Reardon joined SBSI in 2006 as a teller in the Old Orchard Beach branch. Since then, he has held many positions in this branch, most recently as branch manager. With this promotion, Reardon will move to the Saco branch.

Tiffanie Bentley

Southern Maine Community College Dean of Administration Tiffanie Bentley has been chosen to serve as the interim president of SMCC, effective Aug. 1. Bentley has been with SMCC since 2007 when she started as the director of student life. She has since taken on the roles of dean of students in 2013 and dean of administration in 2019. Bentley will likely hold the SMCC presidential position through the spring of 2024.

RECOGNITIONS

The Maine Osteopathic Association recognized several physicians as part of its annual awards this June. Dr. Stephanie Collins was awarded the Physician of the Year Award. Collins has had her practice, Maine Osteopathic Medicine, in South Portland for over 10 years, providing family-oriented medicine to the South Portland community. Ellsworth-based rheumatologist Dr. Charles Radis received the Bates Public Service Award for his commitment to serving the Maine island communities and his work as the founder and medical director of the Maine-African Partnership for Social Justice. Arthur and Fran Girard were chosen for the Osteopathic Champion Award, recognizing their efforts to support the osteopathic community through construction of many Portland-based practices.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Blaine Grimes

Spinnaker Trust appointed Blaine Grimes to its board of directors. Grimes serves as the chief ventures officer for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. Through this role, she has grown business endeavors for GMRI based on their environmental expertise. Spinnaker Trust is a Portland-based trust company that works on sustainably conscious financial planning.
