Friday night’s high school football schedule was interrupted by thunderstorms in southern and central Maine that caused at least six games to be suspended while in progress, and two others to be postponed before kickoff.

Scarborough’s first regular-season game against a New Hampshire opponent – Bishop Guertin of Nashua – was halted at halftime with Bishop Guertin leading 13-10. A makeup time and date were not immediately announced.

Kennebunk had a 23-6 lead over Massabesic in the third quarter, and Lewiston held an 8-0 lead over South Portland just before halftime when those games were suspended until Saturday. Brunswick and Morse will also resume their game Saturday in the third quarter, with the score tied 22-22.

Other suspended games included: Bangor at Windham, which will resume Saturday with Windham leading 26-6 in the third quarter, and Marshwood at Biddeford, set to continue at 10 a.m. Saturday with Marshwood ahead 21-6 in the third quarter.

Bonny Eagle at Noble and York at Wells never started and were instead moved to Saturday night.

Several other games were declared final without being completed, including Cony’s 22-0 win over Skowhegan, Old Orchard Beach’s 54-0 win over Dirigo, and Leavitt’s 45-7 win over Cape Elizabeth.
