Theresa Huot
BIDDEFORD — Theresa M. Huot, born on November 2, 1928, in Biddeford, Maine, to Hermenegilda (Armand) and Irene (Mercier) Letellier, passed away on September 8, 2023. She spent most of her life in Biddeford and was educated in local schools.
On July 15, 1944, Theresa married Patrick J. Huot at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. They shared their lives until Patrick’s passing on August 15, 1986. Theresa dedicated herself to her career as a binder, working for 40 years at Pepperell and West Point Stevens Manufacturing Company before retiring in 1990.
Throughout her life, Theresa made many wonderful memories. She loved to travel and was able to see Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, visited family many times in California and traveled with friends to Spain and Portugal. She looked forward to trips to Foxwoods and enjoyed camping. Anyone who knew Theresa knew of her love for playing cards and BINGO, despite her rarely being the one to win. She often said, “If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all.”
She loved spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, plays and marching band competitions. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of sleepovers at her house with their cousins, using her camper and fully finished basement as places to play. Her house was always filled with family and laughter while stories and memories were shared. She was occasionally a guilty party in the story and would shrug her shoulders with a smirk and giggle confirming it was true.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Hermenegilda and Irene, her husband Patrick, her son Paul R. Huot, her brothers Lucien Letellier, Raymond Letellier, David Letellier, and her sister Doris Dusseault.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Binette, and her husband, Rick; her son, Michael Huot; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Huot; her five grandchildren, Jeffrey Huot, Keith Huot and wife Heather, Jocie Stephens and husband Chris, Shane Binette and wife Kristin, and Corey Huot; and her eight great-grandchildren, Amber, Cameron, Finley, Mila, Kennedy, Savannah, Olivia, and Nolan. She also leaves behind one soon-to-be great-grandchild, Rilee, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Theresa M. Huot will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, also at Hope Memorial Chapel, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Southern Maine in Theresa’s memory.
