The South Portland Fire Department will host an open house at the Cash Corner Fire Station from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Attendees can participate in a number of activities and get a peek at the inner workings of the Cash Corner Fire Station.

The open house is being held as part of Fire Prevention Week, an initiative of the National Fire Protection Association. This year’s theme is cooking safety.
