The 10 finalists in the Manhattan Short Film Festival will be shown Friday, Oct. 6, at the Magic Lantern Movie Theater in Bridgton.

The festival’s theme is “how we face adversity,” and the films – from Australia, Afghanistan, Finland, Iran, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S. –  range from dramatic to humorous and inspirational.  Audience members will vote for the best short film and actor, and the winners of the worldwide vote will be announced Monday, Oct. 9, at manhattanshort.com.

The screening begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at magiclanternmovies.com. The Magic Lantern Theater is located at 9 Depot St.
