Mark Dion is the best fit for the role of mayor as described in our charter.

He frames his campaign as seeking to answer questions, while others ignore the fact voters rejected a “CEO-style” role, offering meaningless promises about specific projects or numerical targets Portland’s mayor can’t force.

Dion is a proven bridge builder, from sheriff to state legislator to city councilor. We need a leader with those established relationships to advocate at the state and federal levels on so many issues Portland hasn’t solved alone.

Dion epitomizes the balance of compassionate but firm leadership Portland needs, as far back as his days as a first responder with the police, to his ongoing practice as a defense attorney. He’s the only candidate willing to talk about what things cost, and to consider all stakeholders at the intersection of our most vulnerable populations with public safety. Please join me in electing Dion for mayor!
