Composting in Windham

The Garbage to Garden composting program will be the topic for the monthly coffee talk at Town Hall. Learn about what food waste can be composted and what can’t, problems and solutions for organic waste and how to get involved at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3. Attendance is free. Senior trip to casino

Take a trip to Oxford Casino for Senior Day with the Windham Parks and Recreation Department Nov. 8. The cost is $15 and the party leaves from the parking lot at Town Hall at 9 a.m. and returns between 3 and 4 p.m. Participants are responsible for their own lunch.

Weekly senior shopping

Every Thursday, the Windham Parks and Recreation Department provides seniors free transportation for a shopping trip in the North Windham area. To participate, call the parks and rec office at 892-1905 Monday through Wednesday the week of the trip to reserve a spot. Routes and times can vary based on the number of riders and the destinations.

Election day bake sale

The Windham Historical Society will be at the polls from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7 with breads, cookies, candy, whoopie pies and other baked goods for sale. For more information on the election, including a sample ballot, go to windhammaine.us.

Community supper

The Windham Hill United Church of Christ and the Wayside Food Program are hosting a community supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. The church is located at 140 Windham Center Road. To learn more or find other community meals, go to waysidemaine.org.
