MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins activated All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey from injured reserve Saturday, clearing the way for him to make his season debut Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Ramsey has missed the first seven games of the season after undergoing surgery in July to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He suffered the injury on the second day of Dolphins training camp.

Early reports estimated that Ramsey would be sidelined until at least December, but he had been far ahead of timeline estimates during his rehab.

He is officially listed on Miami’s injury report as questionable and has been a limited practice participant over the past two weeks, though the Dolphins started increasing his practice reps this past Wednesday. His teammates have spoken about how he’s impressed them in practice.

“He had a really good week,” quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said Wednesday. “Very impressive how he runs with our fast guys, how he transitions in and out of breaks with them. Some of them it was almost mirrored while our guys were running full speed. And for him to break down on a dime the way that they break down is very impressive.”

If Ramsey plays, it will be his first game with Miami (5-2) since the team acquired him in an offseason trade with the Los Angeles Rams. He had 88 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks for the Rams last season.

49ERS: Quarterback Brock Purdy cleared the final step of concussion protocol and is set to start on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 49ers (5-2) announced that Purdy will have no injury designation for the game against the Bengals (3-3) after suffering the concussion late in a loss at Minnesota on Monday night.

Purdy got hit in the helmet on a quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter against the Vikings. He remained in the game but threw two interceptions on his final six pass attempts in the 22-17 loss.

Purdy reported concussion symptoms on the flight home and was placed into the protocol.

Purdy was able to take part in a portion of a walkthrough on Wednesday, was limited in practice the next day and was a full participant on Friday.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the week he would have no hesitation starting Purdy if he was cleared by doctors even after not getting a full week of practice. He pointed to a Thursday night game last season at Seattle when Purdy was unable to take part in any practice before the game because of a rib injury.

Purdy is coming off two straight losses after winning his first 10 regular starts in the NFL. He is 33 for 57 for 397 yards, two touchdowns and his first three interceptions of the season in the losses at Cleveland and Minnesota.

RAIDERS: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who missed the previous six quarters because of a back injury, was cleared for the Raiders’ game Monday night at the Detroit Lions.

“I think he’s got a little pep in his step,” Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels said.

Garoppolo was injured in the first half of the Raiders’ 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots two weeks ago. Brian Hoyer played the second half and then started Sunday’s 30-12 loss at the Chicago Bears.

Kicker Daniel Carlson (right groin) returned to practice after sitting out the previous two days. He was injured in pregame at Chicago, though Carlson played that game.

The Raiders signed James McCourt to the practice squad in case Carlson isn’t ready to go.
