AUBURN — Gavin Robitaille, 16, remains resilient through the surgeries he has endured since he was injured in a mass shooting at Just-In-Time Recreation on Wednesday night.

His first surgery at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston stabilized him, according to information on a GoFundMe account created for his family. He was then taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for further treatment.
He is expected to have a third surgery soon, along with several reconstructive surgeries for his shattered arm, and muscle and nerve damage, according to the GoFundMe account.
“This tragic mass shooting has forever shaken this family,” according to information on the GoFundMe account.
Gavin was hurt when Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin shot several people at Just-In-Time Recreation on Mollison Way before going to Schemengees Bar & Grille on Lincoln Street and killing and injuring others.
Card killed 18 people and injured several others with an assault-style rifle.
Gavin was at the bowling alley with his brother and mother that night, while his father was with his grandfather at Schemengees, Amanda Plummer wrote in a Facebook post Sunday. His father left Schemengees before Card arrived there.
The Edward Little High School sophomore is a pitcher on the baseball team, according to information on the GoFundMe account. He also enjoys playing golf with his family.
Brooke Daigle said in a Facebook post Monday that Gavin is one of the happiest and strongest kids she knows. Daigle’s son is friends with Gavin.
Gavin’s mother did not immediately respond to a request for an interview.
