nominations

Town of Buxton candidate nomination papers are now available from the office of Town Clerk John Myers for several elected municipal positions. Municipal papers must be filed by 4:30 p.m. April 11 at Town Hall, 185 Portland Road.

Candidates with SAD 6 (Bonny Eagle) nomination papers for a Buxton seat, available since February, must take them to the town’s registrar of voters by 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. Then, verified school nominations are due in the district’s Central Office, 94 Main St., in Buxton by 4 p.m. March 27.

The Election Day for all town and SAD 6 positions is set for June 10.

Elected municipal posts available include a pair of three-year terms on the Select Board. The two expiring terms are those of Mark Blier, current board chair, and Select Board member Thomas Peters.

Two Planning Board open seats are those now held by Board Chair Jeri Ross and Vice-Chair Craig Lefebvre.

Three Budget Committee seats are up with seats now held by Chair Sheridan Bennett, Luke Plummer and David Kessler. All seats are three-year terms.

Nathan Carlow of Buxton, Erika Creutz of Standish, Don Marean of Hollis and Christina Silvestri of Limington all have terms expiring in June. The district also includes the town of Frye Island.
