Garret Aube, Falmouth senior shortstop: A leadoff hitter, he returns to his natural position after catching for the defending Class A South champs. He’ll be playing next season for Salve Regina.
Tanner Bernier, Windham senior pitcher/third baseman: The top returning hitter for the Eagles, Bernier hit .353 as a junior with nine RBI and 15 runs scored, earning SMAA honorable mention.
Cam Cousins, Wells senior pitcher/first baseman: The righty went 9-0 with a 0.64 ERA in his first season of varsity pitching and also hit .396 while leading the Warriors in RBI.
Matt Hurley, Old Orchard Beach senior pitcher/first baseman: A first-team all-WMC pick as a junior, Hurley leads an experienced pitching staff after going 3-2 with a 1.90 ERA and 45 strikeouts. He also had an on-base percentage of .450.
Zack Johnson, South Portland senior pitcher/third baseman: A second-team all-SMAA pick as a pitcher, Johnson contributes across the board. He hit .370 with 10 RBI and 12 steals while going 3-2 with a save and a 1.41 ERA.
Titus Kaewthong, Oceanside senior outfielder/catcher: A line-drive, gap-to-gap hitter with good speed, the Mariners’ No. 3 hitter is likely to transition to the outfield, where he will play next season for American International College.
Cam King, Portland senior catcher: A returning first-team All-SMAA pick behind the plate, King is coming off a junior season in which he hit .444. He’ll be a key senior leader for a young, talented squad.
Kyle King, Gorham senior third baseman: King was named an all-SMAA third baseman after hitting .455 as a junior. He forms a strong left side of the infield with Ben Nelson.
Jake Lacroix, Noble senior pitcher/first baseman: A gritty competitor who always wants the ball, Lacroix was 4-4 with a 3.24 ERA last season and also hit .312 with 13 RBI.
Kolby Lambert, Thornton Academy senior pitcher/center fielder: A transfer from Bonny Eagle, Lambert has exceptional speed and was an all-SMAA pick last year. He will be the Trojans’ No. 1 starter. He is committed to Franklin Pierce.
Tim MacDonald, York senior third baseman: A three-year starter known for tough at-bats in big situations, he hit .387 (.472 OBP) with 15 RBI and 11 runs as junior. He’ll attend Ithaca College.
Shane MacNeill, Traip Academy senior pitcher/shortstop: Entering his third year in the Rangers’ starting rotation, MacNeill was 4-1 with a 1.91 ERA in 44 innings as a junior and hit .328 with seven steals.
Nick Merrill, Mt. Ararat senior shortstop: A KVAC second-team pick as a junior, Merrill is a superior defensive player who hits to all fields. He’ll attend Bowdoin.
Dylan Miner, Sacopee Valley junior pitcher/utility: A broken thumb limited his pitching last season, but his above-average fastball is combined with good control. He’s a three-year varsity player.
Will Neleski, Greely junior pitcher/first baseman: The Rangers’ most experienced pitcher, he is 3-2 with 2.03 ERA in his career. He possesses power both on the mound and at the plate, where he hit .288 with a team-leading 15 RBI as a sophomore.
Ben Nelson, Gorham senior shortstop: A four-year starter and returning all-SMAA pick, Nelson batted .429 as both a sophomore and junior. He is committed to Merrimack College.
Hunter Owen, South Portland sophomore pitcher: Coach Mike Owens (no relation) is trying to downplay expectations, but opposing coaches gush about the hard-throwing 6-foot-5 left-hander who went 2-2 with a save as a freshman and is attracting Division I interest.
Arlo Pike, Bonny Eagle senior first base/designated hitter: The SMAA first-team DH as a junior, Pike drove in 13 runs and has big-time power. He will play next season at USM.
Morgan Pratt, Scarborough senior shortstop/pitcher: A good hitter at the top of the Red Storm lineup, Pratt is also an experienced starting pitcher who will bolster a very deep staff.
Brogan Searle-Belanger, Thornton Academy senior third baseman/pitcher: A second-team All-SMAA pick at third base, the University of Maine recruit is also part of a deep pitching staff.
Brendan Tinsman, Cape Elizabeth senior catcher: A preseason player of the year candidate who has committed to Wake Forest, Tinsman stops opposing running games and hit .450 with two home runs last season.
Luke Waeldner, Yarmouth senior pitcher/outfielder: Waeldner hit .455 with a .524 on-base percentage for the defending Class B champs. He also had 18 steals, and was 6-2 with a 2.08 ERA.
Colby Wagner, Freeport senior catcher: Another good, experienced catcher, Wagner hit .396 as a junior (.500 OBP) with a home run and seven steals after batting .417 as a sophomore.
Griffin Watson, Cheverus senior shortstop: A superior defender with sure hands (two errors in 80 chances) and good range, the second-team SMAA pick is also an offensive catalyst, coming off a .348 season with 11 steals and 19 runs.
Michael Wrigley, Wells senior catcher: A four-year starter who is best known for having a strong enough arm to keep opponents glued to bases, he hit .394 as a junior.
