Scarborough junior Ben Greenberg was named the Maine Gatorade baseball Player of the Year Tuesday. Greenberg, a 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher and infielder, had a record of 6-0 with an 0.55 earned run average through Monday’s win at Marshwood. Greenberg was also hitting .431 with two home runs and 17 RBI. Greenberg is an A-minus student, volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House charities, youth baseball programs and community cleanup initiatives and has raised funds to aid a school in Haiti. Greenberg joins Chris Bernard (2009) as Red Storm players to earn this elite honor.
