I am writing to encourage Falmouth residents to vote in favor of continuing the METRO bus service by voting no on the first ballot question this November. I use the Falmouth Flyer to commute to my job in downtown Portland Monday through Friday year round.
I favor the bus service for a number of reasons; the service is dependable, safe, and allows me to save money on gas as well as parking. The bus also provides me with a strong link to a sometimes hard-to-find community here in Falmouth as my rides are spent reading or chatting with my fellow riders. If Falmouth becomes a community made solely of drivers, we will become exclusive and unwelcoming.
I enjoy living here in Falmouth a lot and one of the reasons being that I can easily commute to work on the bus with others in my community.
