YARMOUTH — Two people were arrested after a disturbance call escalated into a shootout early Sunday.
There were no injuries, according to the Police Department.
Police said they were dispatched to a disturbance call on Granite Street at about 1 a.m. While en route, the disturbance escalated to gunfire, ending in approximately 12 rounds fired between two subjects.
Michael Lovering, 47, of North Yarmouth, was charged with aggravated reckless conduct. Samantha Newton, 31, of Yarmouth, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Both subjects were arrested and booked into Cumberland Country Jail in Portland. Both were later released according to jail officials.
The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible, police said.
