CAPE ELIZABETH — Potential regulations on short-term home rentals will be the subject of a Planning Board hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Town Hall.
The proposed regulations cover residences rented for more than 14 days annually for rental periods of 30 days or less. Rental properties would need inspections before permits are granted by the Code Enforcement Officer. The number of tenants and guests visiting would also be capped.
The Planning Board will send recommendations to the Town Council for at least one more public hearing before any ordinance changes are enacted.
