PORTLAND — A U.S. Department of Commerce grant will help extend a college radio station’s signal to the Mid-Coast.
The University of Southern Maine’s community radio station, WMPG, was recently awarded an approximately $128,000 grant through the Commerce Department’s Public Telecommunications Facilities Program.
WMPG 96FM will be able to reach beyond greater Portland to Bath and Brunswick, Biddeford, Lewiston, Norway and the Lakes Region. Upgrades are expected to be complete in September.
