SOUTH PORTLAND — Area police departments are asking the public for help identifying a man believed to be cashing stolen checks.
Police are looking a black man who is at least 6 feet tall and may be riding a white bicycle with fenders over the front and rear tires.
Police say the man has been presenting out-of-state identification cards for checks, which have been reported stolen during burglaries. Police believe the identification cards being used to cash the checks are fraudulent, too.
Police in South Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth and Portland are investigating this case.
