Roxie, a Westbrook Police Department police dog, sitting by her partner, Officer Phil Robinson, will be receiving a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to the efforts of Vested Interest in K9s Inc., a Massachusetts based nonprofit organization, and a Maine resident.

The charity received a donation of $950 from 83-year-old Madeline Hamersley, of Sorrento, for the purchase of the body armor. Roxie will be the 11th dog to receive a vest from donations made by Hamersley.
