Bonny Eagle High School recently held a Kick Butts Day. The Bonny Eagle Health Club sponsored the student event. During all three lunches at the high school, students had the opportunity to “take a kick” at piA?±atas that Health Club students made. The piA?±atas were made to look like huge cigarettes. They were filled with candy and information about tobacco. Hence, “Kick Butts Day.”

The Bonny Eagle Health Club students also worked with students from Standish’s St. Joseph’s College Peer Leader Group. They prepared “QUIT KITS.” Each kit had a “quit tip” and candy and other items that are useful in assisting in quitting smoking. The Bonny Eagle Health Club also had technical support from the Saint Joseph’s College Peer Educators. They also had financial support from Communities Promoting Health, a Healthy Maine Partnership.
