A work crew from Portland Water District repairs a leak in a 12-inch water main near the Dairy Queen on Main Street in Westbrook Wednesday afternoon. Rush-hour traffic moved slowly in both travel lanes but Michelle Clements, a spokeswoman for the water district, asked people to avoid the area. The break was reported about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and repairs were expected to be completed by Thursday morning. Cause of the break was unknown late Wednesday afternoon.
