The 59th running of the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Patriots Day Race is Monday morning in downtown Westbrook.
This annual event always features many of southern Maine’s best high school runners. There are individual and team awards for both boys and girls, and the 2-plus mile race is considered an excellent tuneup for the upcoming spring track and field season.
The start and finish is at the Riverfront Park on Main Street. Race day registration begins at 9 a.m., and the race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
The club is not charging an entry fee, but a voluntary donation of $1 per runner is suggested. Rotary donates the proceeds from the race to local youth programs.
Pre-registration is strongly urged. To register, contact Steve Rand at 854-1218; fax at 854-3502; or e-mail to steve@desmondrand.com. For more race information contact Dave Rolfe at 854-9110 or e-mail drolfe@maine.rr.com
