EXETER, N.H. — Since it’s President’s Day weekend, a New Hampshire museum is hosting a birthday party for the nation’s first president, George Washington.
Folsom’s Tavern at the American Independence Museum in Exeter is offering prizes for children dressed as George or Martha Washington on Saturday.
The president himself plans to be on hand for his 280th birthday.
Participants can learn how to dance the minuet and make their own Purple Heart.
The event is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door.
Exeter is slightly more than a hour’s drive from Portland.
