AUGUSTA — Maine wildlife officials and the Maine Professional Guides Association are seeking nominations for the Wilmot “Wiggie” Robinson Legendary Maine Guide Award.

The award, now in its second year, is named in honor of Wiggie Robinson, a highly respected outdoorsman who was a Maine master guide from 1950 until his death in 2007.

Nominees must be registered guides for at least 20 years with at least 10 years of active guiding service. They should also be active in volunteer programs and on boards that promote Maine wildlife.

The award will be presented early next year at the Maine Professional Guides Association annual banquet.

Nomination forms can be found at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website at www.mefishwildlife.com. The deadline for nominations is Friday.
