NAPLES — The emergency dispatch center for Cumberland County confirmed that one person was struck by lightning late Monday afternoon at a campground on Long Lake.
The victim, a teenager, was hit by lightning at the Four Seasons Family Camping Area in Naples, according to one of the campground’s owners, Beth Brown.
Brown said the youth was taken to a local hospital to be checked out but did not appear to have been seriously injured. Brown said the boy was able to stand and was talking to his parents.
The incident was reported at 5:05 p.m.
