A barn filled with historical farming artifacts and antiques burned to the ground in Kittery Saturday night.
Kittery Fire Chief David O’Brien said no one was hurt in the blaze that broke out in an old wooden barn at 199 Brave Boat Harbor Road about 7 p.m.
The owner was not home. The fire was reported by a passer-by.
Kittery firefighters were joined by firefighters from departments in York Village, York Beach, Eliot, Portsmouth, New Hampshire and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office but is not suspicious, said O’Brien. He said the cause may be electrical.
