HOLDEN — Two people were injured and more than two dozen residents were displaced after a fire at a Holden apartment complex.
Fire Chief Ryan Davis says the fire at Holden Square Apartments reported at about 9 p.m. Sunday was contained to the second-floor unit in which it started, but concerns about smoke and water damage was well as the fear that the blaze would rekindle forced the evacuation of residents in other units.
One person suffered burns while another experienced chest pains.
The Red Cross says it is has placed 12 residents in a local hotel while 14 residents are staying with friends or relatives.
Holden firefighters got help from departments in Bangor, Brewer, Dedham, Hampden, and Orrington.
