OXFORD – A popular drag-racing facility in Oxford will reopen this spring after suspending operations for the 2014 season.
The Sun Journal reported Oxford Dragway owner Jeff Shock and operations manager Crystal Lancaster say there will be a season this year and they will host a drivers meeting on Feb. 1.
The eighth-mile straightaway did not have sufficient help to host its weekly races last year.
The facility’s 2013 season attracted 161 racers in eight different classes. Lancaster says the dragway will likely announce its 2015 racing schedule on Feb. 1.
