BANGOR – Jury selection has begun in the trial of a Maine man who’s charged with using a phony Facebook profile to lure a teenager to her death.
The judge set aside Wednesday and Thursday to select a jury in the trial of Kyle Dube of Orono.
The trial date is scheduled for later this month.
But first, Superior Court Justice Ann Murray must rule on a motion by Dube’s attorneys to move the trial out of Penobscot County because of media coverage. The judge last week rejected a motion to suppress statements Dube made to police.
Police say Dube used a fake Facebook profile to set up a meeting with Nichole Cable of Glenburn before killing her in May 2013.
