The Town Council last week with a 7-0 unanimous vote accepted Brenda Caldwell’s resignation from the Gorham Economic Development Corp., which promotes business in town.

Caldwell is a retired town clerk, former Town Council chairwoman and former Gorham Historical Society president. She was instrumental in launching the town’s rescue service and has worked as a food pantry volunteer.

Town Councilor Suzanne Phillips said Caldwell had a number of good ideas on the GEDC board.

“I hope she enjoys some time off,” Town Council Chairman Lee Pratt said.
