Erica Allan of Portland works as a dog walker at Peace of Mind Pals in South Portland. She’s been there less than a year. “My favorite part of the job is seeing all the different personalities in the dogs,” said Allan, 25. But she worries about the safety of her charges, especially when they encounter other dogs on their walks. “You never want anything bad to happen on your watch – you need to be aware of your surroundings,” she said.
