JOLIET, Ill. — Erik Jones took the lead from Ryan Blaney with 11 laps remaining and held on to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series AttiCat 300 on Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway.

Jones, 19, beat Blaney to the finish line by 1.959 seconds.

A driver for the Joe Gibbs Racing team, Jones also won the NASCAR truck race at Iowa Speedway on Friday night.

Jones led on two other occasions during the 200-lap race. He was penalized with 18 other drivers for pitting with the pits closed with 48 laps to go, but moved up quickly after restarting in 10th place.

Pole sitter Austin Dillon finished third, 2.3 seconds behind, with Brendan Gaughan fourth and series points leader Chris Buescher fifth.

FORMULA ONE: Nico Rosberg showed his championship potential by overtaking pole sitter Lewis Hamilton on the first turn to win the Austrian Grand Prix in style in Speilberg, Austria.

The German driver, runner-up to his Mercedes teammate in last year’s standings, took an aggressive inside line to shoot past Hamilton heading into the first turn in an eventful race featuring a heavy crash between Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso and several more retirements.

Hamilton, the defending race champion, finished second, but Rosberg’s third win this season cut Hamilton’s overall lead to 10 points.

Felipe Massa finished third for Williams, holding off Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari by just 0.6 seconds.

OXFORD PLAINS SPEEDWAY: Shawn Knight of South Paris came from deep in the field to capture the Super Late Model main event Saturday.

Knight’s victory in the 50-lap feature came in his first appearance in the class this season. He became the seventh driver to win a Super Late Model event at Oxford Plains this year.

Alan Wilson of Hebron placed second and Kyle Treadwell of Buckfield was third.

Other winners were Bryce Mains of Naples in Street Stock, Scott Alexander of Newburgh in Mods, Jamie Heath of Waterford in Bandits, and Jon Lizotte of Mechanic Falls in Figure 8.
