Krista Simonis

The Maine Credit Union League has hired Krista Simonis as its new director of governmental affairs. Simonis will lead efforts to advance the League’s legislative, political and advocacy agendas in both Augusta and Washington, D.C. She began her political career with a lobbying firm in California after earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Riverside. Simonis later earned a master’s degree in communications studies from the University of Portland, in Oregon, and managed digital communications for the Oregon League of Conservation Voters.

Sheila Menair

Sheila Menair has joined Falmouth-based Back Cove Financial as a wealth adviser. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the profession and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. As part of her work, Sheila is a co-founder and director of Together Invested, a volunteer group that provides educational workshops for women on financial topics such as dealing with divorce.

Jamie Taylor

Ocean View at Falmouth has hired Jamie Taylor as program manager for its Legacy Memory Care Community. Previously, she worked as director of life enrichment and pastoral care at Mount Saint Joseph in Waterville, the state’s third-largest nursing home care facility. She also worked for 18 years as team leader of a youth development program in Florida. Taylor graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation. She earned a master’s degree in sports and recreation management from Florida International University in Miami.

Northern Light Mercy Primary Care has named two physicians to its care team. Dr. Jeffrey Badillo has joined the Yarmouth branch, and Dr. Jennifer Horne is now seeing patients at the Gorham location. Horne completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and she completed residencies in family medicine and neuromusculoskeletal/osteopathic manipulative medicine at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Previously, Horne worked as the primary physician for a long-term care facility and as a full-spectrum primary care provider at Health Access Network in Lincoln, Maine. Dr. Badillo earned his medical degree and Master of Public Health degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his family medicine residency at Central Maine Medical Center. Since 1995, his volunteer mission work has taken him from a camp in Maine working with visually impaired youth to medical missions in places like Zambia, Kenya, Mexico, Grenada and Malawi.

Portland Gastroenterology Center has added three new providers to its practice: Dr. Matthew Grunwald, Vicki Cook and Kate Rossiter. Grunwald is a graduate of Williams College in Massachusetts and Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Grunwald is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Cook worked as a nurse in emergency medicine for many years before receiving a Master of Science degree from Husson University in Bangor. She has been a practicing family nurse practitioner since 2019. Rossiter’s background in medical care includes experience as a nurse in an inpatient medical-surgical unit. She then obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston. From there, she moved to a home care setting and has also worked as an adjunct instructor for the University of Southern Maine’s nursing program.

Tyler Toothaker

Tyler Toothaker has been promoted to president of Doug Sneed & Co., responsible for strategic planning and new business development at the South Portland-based home design products company. Toothaker has over 10 years of experience with the firm. He also worked as a tech consultant there while earning a degree in international business from the University of Southern Maine.
